Every summer Salt Lakers of all ages gather to hear live music in Pioneer Park. Utah’s “Twilight Concert Series” is an affordable way to enjoy live quality music during those perfect Utah summer nights.

We weren’t joking when we said these concerts are for all ages. Think the concert is just for teenagers and young adults? If you’re not a millennial, don’t panic. Plenty of adults enjoy the show, there’s even room to lay out some blankets and chill out while you jam. There are plenty of families with strollers too, Moms and Dads are always welcome!

Every year they produce an impressive lineup full of classic bands and artists, along with some on the rise. Their mission statement is, “To connect audiences with the arts by presenting world-renowned musicians who reflect strong artistic values and diverse social principles in a way that creates vibrancy in downtown Salt Lake City.”

They definitely do a good job of creating vibrancy in SLC. Not only do they choose a fun variety of performers, but they have a food and craft market. Enjoy your night in the city by eating some delicious local grub or doing some shopping while waiting for the music to start.

Oh, and did we mention a ticket is only $5 if you purchase in advance? If you decide to attend last minute, tickets are $10.

Meet this week’s performers: BIG GRAMS.

Rapper Big Boi and Electric Rock singer Phantogram join forces in their self-titled EP “Big Grams”.Phantogram is made up of a a rockin’ music duo, Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel! You’ve probably jammed out to them sometime in your life. Some of their hits include “Mouthful of Diamonds, “Fall In Love”, and “Don’t Move”. We really enjoy the “Fall in Love” video, check it out!

Big Boi, aka Antwan Andre Patton is mostly recognized as a member of Outkast, with Andre 3000. Together they have produced six studio albums, and we can’t forget about his successful solo albums in 2010 and 2012. Big Boi has used his music to address the problems and trials the African American community faces, and has been praised for openly sharing his thoughts and opinions. He heard “Mouthful of Diamonds” by Phantogram one day in an ad, and liked it so much he shared it as the “Jam of the Week” on his website. Sarah Barthel of Phantogram, probably thrilled, contacted him and the rest is history! Their music was made to be meshed, and wonderful collaborations were made. Watch the music video for “Drum Machine”. Not only is it super catchy, but it’s wildly entertaining.

Opening for Big Grams is Burnell Washburn and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals. Burnell Washburn is a hip hop artist who specializes in unique and exciting songs. His performances are promised to be exciting, and he’s performed with many of the greats, like Snoop Dogg, Logic, and Mac Miller. Anderson .Paak is rising in the music industry, and has done an apprenticeship with Dr. Dre himself!

The show starts at 7:30pm at Pioneer Park 350 300 West, in Downtown Salt Lake City.  Sounds like a show you don’t wanna miss!
